10 Bible Verses About Faith When Life Gets Hard

10 Bible Verses About Faith When Life Gets Hard

Faith isn’t always easy.

Some days, I feel confident in what God’s doing. Other days, I’m just trying to trust Him when nothing makes sense. I wrote this post because I know I’m not alone in that. We all need reminders sometimes — real ones — that God is still in control, and that He sees us.

These are some of the verses that have helped me personally, especially during hard or confusing seasons. I hope they do the same for you. 💛

What Even Is Faith?

Faith isn’t just believing that God exists. It’s trusting His heart, even when His hand seems hidden. It’s waking up and choosing to believe He’s good, even when things aren’t.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." — Hebrews 11:1

That verse has always grounded me. Faith isn’t a feeling — it’s the backbone of our hope.

10 Bible Verses About Faith

Here are some verses that speak to me when I need to hold on — when I’m tired, doubtful, hopeful, or just needing a reset. I’ve added a few thoughts under each one. Nothing fancy. Just real.

1. Hebrews 11:1

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
→ When I’m unsure, this reminds me that it’s okay not to see it yet.

2. 2 Corinthians 5:7

"For we walk by faith, not by sight."
→ This verse links to the first one. It truly isn't about what we see happening right now but it’s about who we know is walking with us. That person is God and I know he will never leave our side.

3. Isaiah 26:3–4

"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You."
→ When anxiety creeps in, come back to this. Peace and faith are connected. 🕊️

4. Matthew 17:20

"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed... nothing will be impossible for you."
→ I don’t need huge faith. Just enough to take the next step.

5. Romans 10:17

"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
→ Sometimes the best way to build faith is to just open the Word. Whenever you feel down or alone, read your Bible and read these verses. It always reassures me.

6. Proverbs 3:5–6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding..."
→ A reminder for when I’m overthinking everything (which is often) that I am not alone and I can trust in God and he will lead me.

7. James 1:6

"But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt..."
→ If you're praying for something right now, this verse is a reminder to lean all the way in. Don’t hold back your hope. Trust that He hears you, even if the answer takes time. God's timing is best.

8. Galatians 2:20

"The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God..."
→ Faith is a way of living, not just a belief system.

9. Psalm 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God."
→ Stillness takes faith. I often need this one. 🧡

10. Mark 11:24

"Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
→ Not a formula — but a call to believe that God is already moving.

If You’re in a Faith-Waiting Season

If you’re in that place of “God, I’m trusting You but I’m still waiting,” I see you. I’m right there too, in a few areas of my life. Just remember: waiting in faith doesn’t mean you’re doing nothing. It means you’re standing still with purpose.

And sometimes, the most faithful thing you can do is not quit.

If You Want to Carry These Verses With You

That’s part of why I started my shop — not just to sell things, but to help people carry reminders of God’s truth with them every day. A hoodie with a verse. A tote with a promise. A tumbler that reminds you to pray.

If any of these verses stood out to you, you can find some of them in our Faith Collection. I design everything prayerfully and intentionally, and I’d love to see you wear what matters. ✨
